Chapter 5

Ashley

It was my first day back to school since Ashton got hurt and Asheed was murdered. As I walked through the hallway, all eyes were on me like I had something on my face and shit. I just ignored it and kept walking; I didn’t have time for this childish bullshit. I opened my locker and out fell a stack of letters, I picked one up and opened it. I was enraged by what I read and when I looked up, everyone was looking at me.

“Last time I checked, y’all was black too! I guess I’m the only nigger here?” I asked as I grabbed my books.

I was so heartbroken by what I had just read. These people were supposed to be my friends and yet they wrote me all these nasty messages, and for what? I just left it alone and walked into my first period class and took a seat in the back. I put my headphones on and pressed play on my Walkman. As the class started to enter, everyone was staring at me. Then in comes Chyna and my ex-boyfriend Toddrick hugged up and laughing. As they took their seats, I noticed everyone was in the front and people actually moved their chair away from me. I just let the petty shit go and opened my book. Halfway through the class, Chyna raised her hand and smiled at me. I took off my headphones to listen to what she had to say.

“Mr. Reeves, some of the other kids and I think that Ashley shouldn’t be allowed in here,” she said and smiled.

“And why is that Ms. Harrington?” he asked, looking at me.

“Well, she has AIDS!” she said and everyone laughed.

“And is there a problem with having HIV/AIDS, Ms. Harrington?” he asked as he sat in on his desktop. He looked me in my eyes and winked.

“Yeah, it is. That shit’s nasty as fuck, and I don’t want to catch it. Like I said, either she leaves or I do.” He crossed his arms and nodded at me.

“So Ms. Watts, what’s your take on this situation?”

“I think it’s childish as fuck and Chyna needs to grow the fuck up if you ask me. Also, if she is so worried about getting HIV, then why is she fucking my ex?” The whole class laughed. “And another thing Mr. Reeves, while this bitch is over here mad, her ass needs to go get tested because Toddy ate my pussy and fucked me raw!” With that said, I just smiled.

“Settle down class, now I have to say some things about this situation.” Everyone got silent. “As a person living with HIV, I am highly offended by everything that Ms. Harrington has said today. This is not a joke and I will not tolerate this type of bullying.
